Elin Stebbins Waldal is a writer, speaker, and the Founder/Executive Director of, Girls kNOw More, an organization dedicated to inspiring confidence, and self-esteem in school-age girls.

She is the author of Tornado Warning, A Memoir Of Teen Dating Violence And Its Effect On A Woman’s Life, which is a Mom’s Choice Awards® Gold Recipient for 2011 in the Adult Book Category.

Elin has appeared on Fox News San Diego – Channel 5, San Diego Living – Channel 6 and countless radio programs across the country.

In California, Elin is a State Action Leader for the Love Is Not Abuse Coalition which advocates for legislation that will require teen dating abuse curriculum in all middle schools, high schools and colleges. Hear her key message from It’s time to Talk Day 2010 here.

Recognized in October of 2011 with the Champion of HOPE Award: For an individual who Expresses Hope, Opportunity, Healing and Education in San Diego County and in June of 2010 with an Honorable Mention Award in the World of Difference Category by The San Diego County Office of Education for speaking and educating high school students. Additionally, she is a California state certified domestic violence advocate.

She has contributed to The Courage Network, Safe World for Women, New Moon Girls, Style Substance Soul, Fall Issue of Your Teen Magazine,  Women of the World, and  The New Agenda.
